Working a night job from 9pm to 5am came with a couple consequences. One of which was having to live on an inverse schedule different to 99% of the population. On that note, life after that job was a lot more different, and presented a new opportunity, the mornings.
I was now getting used to waking up at more traditionally humanly hours and wanted to make the most of this change. I began researching ways to optimize my mornings and that is when I set a rigid morning routine in place.
1- Meditate: Wim-Hof
2- Turn Audible
3- 50 push ups
4- Drink 0.5l Water
5- Cold Shower
6- Bathroom Rituals: face wash, brush, floss, sunblock…
7- Affirmations & Visualization :read out loud
7- Change & get ready
8- Make breakfast protein shake & SouperBowl
9- Audible in the car
10- CRUSH THE DAY!
Average Time Investment: 27- 32 Minutes/ Day
Having this routine allowed me to deceive my body into thinking all I had to do was this one routine (Known as Habit Stacking). Not pressing snooze in the morning and and making my bed already reinforced subconscious feelings of accomplishment and allowed me to start the morning off on the right foot. Slowly slowly, I engrained these habits into muscle memory (aka nuclous accumbens) and now follow it every day.
(With the exception of waking up at 7am. Will wake up at 5am once I enter the working world and incorporate a morning workout to this routine) I have also been able to cut the time these habits take to 27 minutes by streamlining the process and spend very little mental energy to follow it anymore.
